I Know the Layout of the Hospital Better Than My Own Neighborhood

My life has been one big blur lately. I have to sit and think about where the time has gone!

Let's start off by saying that I spent two lovely days last week in the hospital. I went in last Monday originally to get my cholesterol checked (I was on meds before I got pregnant), but I was feeling horrible so I went ahead to get checked out. It started, I guess, Friday night, when I went to bed with chills. I didn't think really anything about it. The windows had been open all day, I am tend to get cold easily anyhow. But, I woke up about 4AM to feed Mckenna and when I went into the nursery, I could barely stand because my back hurt so bad, I couldn't see, and I couldn't hear. I felt super dizzy. I was lucky I made it holding Mckenna from the crib to the changing table without dropping her. When I gained some sort of sight back, I took her into the bedroom to my husband where I was convinced I was dying. I checked my blood pressure...slightly high, but nothing to really worry about. Checked my blood sugar...it was normal. Took my temperature...99.8, a little high, but again, nothing I was going to rush myself to the emergency room about. I took some Tylenol and Ibprofen and was able to feed the baby and we both fell back asleep on the couch. I woke up later in a puddle of sweat. I was feeling better except for the horrible pain in my back. I was still running a low grade fever as well.

I went through the weekend with the horrible back pain and chills and low grade fever. I felt like death. It was pretty bad. I made it to the doctor Monday where I sat in the waiting room crying because my back hurt so bad. They did blood and urine tests and decided that my white blood cell count was extremely low, but there really was no other indication that there was anything wrong, though it was obvious that I was in pain and my temperature was 100.8. The doctor thought that I might have a ruptured cyst on my ovary, so he sent me over to the ER where they did an ultrasound on my ovaries and my kidneys only to find that they were in perfect working order. I really had the doctors stumped. They had no clue what was wrong. All they could tell me was that I had an infection and they didn't know where. They said that because my white blood cell count was so low (1.4 and it should have been around 10.7) that I wasn't going to get better without medication. After two days I told the doctor I had to go home to take care of my baby. Today, I am feeling a bit better, my back is still hurting some, but not like it was and I don't have a fever.

In other news, Mckenna got some pictures taken last week. Here are a few:

I know...I make beautiful babies!

Tomorrow, Mckenna goes in to have the ultrasound done on her head so we can find out the severity of this lipoma. I am really hoping that I am just overreacting and that everything is fine. I am a worry-wart though.

Tonight, I am very proud of myself...I made my first turkey! It turned out really good. I thought it would be horrible, but I am glad it turned out good.

Anyhow, I will update on the lipoma as soon as I can.
